Empowering Scholars Through Mentorship

We provide dedicated mentorship to guide our scholars in their journey toward becoming valuable members of society, ensuring they have the support they need every step of the way.

While working with the mentor the following will transpire:

• Goal setting centered around one of our four priority domain areas

• weekly check-ins

• and weekly progress reports towards their goals

Added Support:

Each scholar in the program will be assigned an academic/community mentor who will guide them through the progress.

These mentors possess the following characteristic traits:

• Empathy: They understand and listen to the mentee's concerns, challenges, and aspirations.

• Active Listening: They listen attentively, without interrupting, and offer thoughtful responses.

• Patience: They exercise patience, allowing the mentee to learn at their own pace.

• Expertise and Knowledge: They possess a strong foundation of knowledge and experience in their field and are able to share insights, offer advice, and provide guidance based on their expertise.

• Communication Skills: They are clear and articulate in conveying ideas, offering feedback, and explaining complex concepts.

• Encouragement and Motivation: They inspire and motivate their mentee, celebrating their achievements and encouraging them to take on new challenges, build confidence, and push beyond their limits.

• Role Model: They exemplify the values, work ethic, and behavior they want to instill in their mentee.
